......trying to find common ground with the people who aren't in one's "faction"

......trying to find common ground with the people who aren't in one's "faction", imo, is a good idea, because if we are ever going to "depose and dispossess" the capitalist ruling class, (and we will not accomplish it through violent means), it will because there will be unity among MANY of us who are not in agreement now. Solidarity is the idea. I, myself, was a Democrat just one year ago... and I supported Bernie until I felt completely betrayed during the Nominating process when, imo, he sold us out. So I am not scornful of those who are slower to figure things out. Our divisions weaken our power. Some people can understand that fact at this point, while they are not yet motivated to resist the status quo.. If we want to increase our numbers, we can't be acting like we're smarter than everyone else. Condescension is such a turnoff.

FREE AHED TAMIMI: Via: Mary-Alice Strom
"In the five days since her arrest, Israeli authorities have attempted to coerce confession from Ahed, a minor, without access to a lawyer or a parent (her mother Nariman was herself arrested when she arrived to accompany her daughter during questioning); moved her from the occupied West Bank across the 1949 armistice line, also known as the “Green Line,” in contravention of international law; and transferred the sleep deprived teenager between at least three different detention centers and prisons.
All of this and Ahed has not yet been charged with a crime.
Ahed’s father Bassem Tamimi spoke about his daughter’s current situation to Palestinian human rights defenders Manal Tamimi of the Nabi Saleh Popular Committee, Issa Amro of Youth Against Settlements and Ariel Gold, of U.S.-based social justice organization CODEPINK; who conveyed the information to Mondoweiss." - READ MORE:

So, now that we have lost Net Neutrality, what comes next?
This:
Fresh off yet another victory in the halls of an FCC that not too long ago was a mortal enemy, Comcast and Charter Communications are asking Congress to make the agency's takedown of Title II internet regulations law.
Yes indeed, with President Trump’s approval at historic lows, and the Republican-led Congress viewed in an even less favorable light, the nation’s two top cable companies are asking lawmakers to approach a net neutrality decision that can, at best, be described as questionably popular with the public.
“It’s now time for all of us to take advantage of this moment in time and end the cycle of regulatory ping pong we’ve been trapped in for over a decade and put this issue to rest once and for all,” said Comcast’s top regulatory executive, David Cohen, in a blogged statement this afternoon.

I thank Commissioner Mignon Clyburn and Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel for their fierce fight to preserve Network Neutrality. Someday that decision will be reversed, but until then, I hope they will keep up the struggle.

As someone who strives to understand the other person’s point of view and to forgive, I think this sentence is one of the most profound that I have read:
“”
I had been proud of my capacity for forgiveness, but the mere fact that I was ashamed to describe the details of what I had forgiven made me wonder if that chapter of my life had really been resolved.

Here in 2017 it's the same tune on a different day....
Connecting the dots...
by Rich Austin-ILWU Retired
We hear it every day. States and the federal government are having to reduce funding for essential human services, (Some people call such services "entitlements." The definition of "entitlements" is then twisted in order to frame such services as hand-outs to the 'undeserving'). Those who do not agree that everyone is "entitled" to a decent job paying family-sustaining wages, adequate housing, health care, good public education, and security in retirement, are in league with labor-haters like the Heritage Foundation.
According to a 2008 study by economists Joseph Stiglitz and Linda Bilmes, the Iraq war will cost us $3 trillion and more. (They have since revised that figure to $4+ trillion.) Other respected economists, including Dean Baker, are in agreement with Stiglitz and Bilmes. Their findings can be accessed at:
http://www.washingt onpost.com/ wp-dyn/content/ article/2008/ 03/07/AR20080307 02846.html
The report tells us that federal discretionary funding for states and municipalities is being reduced because federal funds are being diverted to prosecute two wars. The several trillion dollar Bush tax cuts for the rich have likewise taken their toll. Federal and state programs are going under-funded because money is being siphoned-off by war profiteers and the top 5%.
When there are downturns in the economy public workers, and especially unionized public workers, find themselves in the crosshairs. Publicly funded community agencies suffer the same fate. Incredibly and sadly, the bleating of groups like the Heritage Foundation are too often joined by working class antagonists. It seems that as long as their ox isn't being gored everyone else is fair game!
Connect the dots! War, tax breaks for the rich, and politicians beholden to the wealthiest 5% are crippling our economy! Worse, however, is the social and economic injustice that is harming the most vulnerable amongst us. Rather than addressing those national maladies, too many people are looking for the easy way out, and pubic employees and funding for essential human services are convenient targets.
85% of Americans earn less than $100,000 per year (55% have incomes below $50,000). Isn't it time for us to look out for one another rather than continuing to cede our power to a tiny fraction of super rich power brokers (and their stooges we call "lawmakers")? A starting point is letter writing to newspapers as a way to change the national dialogue. Resolutions to city, county, and state governmental bodies is another. But make no mistake about it, more activism will be needed. As Frederick Douglas stated, "If there is no struggle there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightening. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."

The people who were conned into voting for Trump and who still defend him are examples of a fetid DNA that runs through our nation: Do Not Admit.
Rather than admitting they were suckered, they double-down on their error by alibiing his senseless tirades and his evil-spirited agenda.
P.T. Barnam was right: “There’s a sucker born every minute”.
Then they grow up and vote Republican.

Something to ponder

Something to ponder.....
There are donor states and there are taker states. The former contribute more dollars to the federal government than they receive from the federal government. The latter does just the reverse. They get more than they give.
Would it surprise you to learn that 9 out of 10 of the top taker states are red, and most are south of the Mason-Dixon line? Imagine that! States who elect Republican demagogues who then rant and rave about “welfare” are biting off their own noses to spite their faces.
Hey! If that is the way they want it, let’s oblige them! Let’s quit subsidizing hypocritical taker states with our tax dollars.

Stopping Armageddon
The United States faces a trap of its own making. For decades, this country has forcibly overthrown regimes it deemed to be hostile to U.S. interests. North Korea fears that it is next.

Dolce is a customized doll, she is not a child's toy, but a doll for "big kid" collector.
I give great care in creating each of my dolls as unique as I can, but I'm not a robot and therefore they can't be 100% perfect, there may be some small imperfections.
A customized doll is ultimately a piece of art doll and not a stock doll!
She can be manipulated to play with and take pictures, but still providing great care: do not drop because the ears can be fragile, even if the head easily moves, always moves it with smooth movements and always hold the head to rotate the eyes by pulling the pullring.
I do not accept returns, thus take a moment of reflection before making your purchase, I am at your disposal for any question and to guide you in your choice.
